Interview with L.A. fashion blogger Christeric

Monday Jun 28th 2010

Christine from L.A. fashion blog Christeric only started her snap-happy capturings at the beginning of this year, yet already has a cult following that could rival many. Since then, the fashionable stylist has become renowned for an edgy street-style full of leopard print bags, mindblowing hand-made spiked shoes and blue-tipped ends.

We recently chatted to Christine about her first six months in blogging.

When did you decide to start and blog and why? I started the blog January of this year. I was getting ready for a styling job in New York for fashion week and felt it would be a shame not to document/share my excitement. My parents live far away (mum in China, dad in Japan). I get to see them once a year if I'm lucky, so it was also a nice way to show them what I've been up to and what I look like!

How often do you like to snap yourself? I try to take an outfit post at least once a week, but sometimes work gets too busy so I lag a little. My patient boyfriend, Eric takes them for me!

What's some tips you'd give to aspiring fashion bloggers? As an aspiring one myself, I don't know if I'm fit to give any useful tips, but I would say just be yourself, wear what you like, say what you want, and get a nice camera!!

How would you summarize your personal style? As a true gemini, I guess I could summarize my style in one word: fickle.

The first three items in your wardrobe that you'd save in a fire? Again, I will probably change my mind 8 times in the next 5 minutes but for now: my christeric necklace, my diy dungeon boots (too many hours put into those), and my leopard diego bag.

What's the craziest comment you've ever recieved from a reader? I want to have your babies?!?!

Your favourite fashion blogger? Too many to choose from! I am an avid blog reader, but my current fave is StopItRightNow. She is hilarious and with good taste!

The best thing that's happened to you as a result of your blog? As cheesy as it sounds, blogging has given me motivation to capture this time in my life. Clothes have been such a big part of my life/career, it would be a shame not to share what I love. It's nice to know that I'm documenting what I wear, where I travel, and what I am inspired by in my 20's and hopefully 30's if I keep up with it!
