A Winning Day: Sass and Bide

Sass and Bide designers Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton have embraced effervescent colour in their new Pre Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Named ‘A Winning Day’, the label expresses their love of design in emotive colour, mixed with the brand’s signature embellishments of fringing, feathers and Aztec prints.
The collection introduces a uniquely relaxed and chic wardrobe of summer-wear, flowing with loose-fitting dresses and pants. “The name refers to when everything we enjoy comes together,” Clark stated, “It was a collective fusion of influences, being sport, the Eastern world, Kandinsky and a play on opposition and scale. We also referenced elements of traditional Japanese dressing.”
The designer duo has an imaginative instruction for the Australian shopper: Take on bold colour this summer. “Just do it! It lifts your spirits,” stated Middleton; “Colour evokes emotion. We had experienced a break from it for a few seasons so we’re ready to embrace strength in colour.”
